TOWN OF LOGANSPORT

October 8, 2024 

The regular monthly meeting of the Logansport Town Council was held Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Logansport Town Hall with Mayor Judge Cordray presiding. Council members present: Pam Thomas, Mark Woods, Katherine Freeman, Anthony Wilson and Zachary Bossier. Three guest present.

The meeting was opened with the Lord’s Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.

With a motion from Mr. Bossier and seconded by Mrs. Thomas a public hearing was opened for comments on Ordinance #716 increasing Tap fees for water and gas. After discussion hearing was closed with a motion by Mr. Bossier and seconded by Mrs. Freeman. All ayes. None absent

The September minutes were approved with a motion from Mrs. Thomas and seconded by Mr. Bossier. All ayes. None absent.

The monthly bills were approved with a motion from Mrs. Freeman and seconded by Mrs. Thomas. All ayes. None absent.

Cynthia Hendrickson reported that the Christmas Festival was to held on November 23, 2024 and the parade will be held at 4:00 p.m.

Tori Dyess reported to the council that River City Fest wanted to change the dates from the second week in May to the second week in April. She also reported pumpkins would be arriving October 12, 2024 for the Logansport Chamber of Commerce to sell.

Ordinance #716 increasing tap fees for water and gas was adopted with a motion from Mr. Bossier and second from Mr. Wilson. All ayes. None absent.

Employee Insurance was approved with a motion by Mr. Bossier and second from Mr. Woods. All ayes. None absent.

The Mayor and Council received TOWN OF LOGANSPORT GAS SYSTEM PUBLIC AWARENESS NOTICE information and signed sheet provided by town clerk.

The Employee Personnel Policy was approved with a motion by Mrs. Freeman and seconded by Mr. Woods. All ayes. None absent.

The old water meters were declared as salvage with a motion from Mr. Woods and second from Mrs. Thomas. All ayes. None absent.

Mr. Woods presented the council with pictures and contact information for pickle ball court and corn hole to be constructed down on river front. Mayor Cordray reported the
grant money was given to the town from the Desoto Tourist Bureau through the Logansport Chamber of Commerce for recreation.

Mayor Cordray reported the tractor and side cutter was being delivered today and the cutting on ditches and roadside would be started soon. He reported all the boards on
the boardwalk have been replaced.

With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned with a motion from Mrs. Thomas and seconded by Mr. Bossier. All ayes. None absent.
