MINUTES
TOWN OF LOGANSPORT
APRIL 11, 2023
The regular monthly meeting of the Logansport Town Council was held Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Logansport Town Hall with Mayor Judge Cordray presiding. Council members present: Kathrine Freeman, Pam Thomas, Zachary Bossier, Anthony Wilson and Mark Woods. Three guests present.
The meeting opened with the Lord’s Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.
With a motion from Mr. Bossier and second from Mrs. Thomas the minutes were approved. All ayes. None absent.
The monthly bills for the utility and general fund were approved with a motion from Mrs. Freeman and second from Mr. Bossier. All ayes. None absent.
The 2023 millage rate of 7.52 and 4.53 were adopted through resolution with a motion by Mr. Bossier and second from Mr. Wilson. All ayes. None absent.
Jerry Lowe addressed the council about his concerns about how fast the traffic is on main street in downtown and also about the location of the post office and how its dangerous to park on a slant. The mayor thanked Mr. Lowe for expressing his concerns and would be looking into both.
Lisa Lobrano Burson introduced herself to the council and guests, she is running for DeSoto Parish Clerk of Court.
Mayor Cordray announced the town would soon be working on the roads. He reported that the Egg-travaganza was a huge success and coming up in May would be the River Ciity Festival.
Mayor Cordray reported the awnings, lights, and electrical work is completed, the money came from the state grant for community enhancement. The next grant for downtown beautification is covers for Caraway Building, the entrance coming into town by the horse and wagon and improvements to town’s future community center. Plans are being finalized.
With no more business to discuss the meeting was adjourned with a motion from Mr. Bossier and second from Mr. Woods. All ayes. None absent.
