MINUTES
TOWN OF LOGANSPORT
MAY 9, 2023
The regular monthly meeting of the Logansport Town Council was held Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Logansport Town Hall with Mayor Judge Cordray presiding. Council members present: Katherine Freeman, Pam Thomas and Anthony Wilson. Zachary Bossier and Mark Woods absent. Four guests present.
The meeting opened with the Lord’s Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.
With a motion from Mrs. Freeman and second from Mr. Wilson the minutes were approved. All ayes. Two absent.
The monthly bills for the utility and general fund were approved with a motion from Mrs. Freeman and second from Mrs. Thomas. All ayes. Two absent.
Mrs. Mary Thompson announced the Desoto Parish Tourism Commission would be interviewing for new director.
Mayor Cordray announced the grant money designated to new canopies for the Caraway Building(the Caraway Building would not be ready for canopies by the time the grant money needed to be spent) would be re-designated to the community center. The mayor had polled all the council members and it was agreed. The cedar logs for welcome area at the horse and wagon are in and should be started soon.
River City Festival will be this weekend and the parade will be at 6:00 on Friday.
Diane Pitts addressed the council about the 2023 Summer Reading Program and invited the council and guest to stop by on May 25, 2023.
With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned with a motion by Mr. Wilson and second from Mrs. Thomas. All ayes. Two absent.
