MINUTES
TOWN OF LOGANSPORT
JULY 9, 2024
The regular monthly meeting of the Logansport Town Council was held Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Logansport Town Hall with Mayor Judge Cordray presiding. Council members present: Pam Thomas, Mark Woods and Anthony Wilson. Zachary Bossier and Katherine Freeman absent. Two guest present.
The meeting was opened with the Lord’s Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.
With a motion from Mr. Wilson and seconded by Mrs. Thomas the June minutes were approved. All ayes. Two absent.
The monthly bills were approved with a motion from Mrs. Thomas and seconded by Mr. Woods. All ayes. Two absent.
The 2023 Audit Report prepared by Marsha Millican, CPA was presented and approved with a motion from Mr. Woods and seconded by Mr. Wilson. All ayes. Two absent.
With a motion from Mrs. Thomas and seconded by Mr. Wilson the Mansfield Enterprise was approved as the official journal for the Town for 07/01/24-06/30/2025. All ayes. Two absent.
The 2024 Property Tax Millage Rate of 7.130 and 4.290 was adopted with a motion from Mrs. Thomas and seconded by Mr. Woods. All ayes. Two absent.
With a motion from Mr. Woods and seconded by Mrs. Thomas the old Kubota tractor was declared as surplus. All ayes. Two absent.
Mayor Cordray reported the DeSoto Parish Fire District 1’s fireworks was a great success. Cars were lined from horse and wagon to the bridge. The new community center is being well used and have received many compliments on new pictures on the walls. He also reported we received word from the man repairing the horse and making the town a new one that he is expecting to have it here by end of July.
With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned with a motion from Mrs. Thomas and seconded by Mr. Woods. All ayes. Two absent.
