Logansport, the “Gateway to Louisiana” and “Sand Bass Capital of the World”
And it’s a great place to live!

As you venture through the park, you will notice a very prominent monument of the State of Louisiana. This area is dedicated to the late Carolyn Plott Vidler.

She was so very proud of Logansport, and all things Louisiana. Carolyn was a big part of helping the town with its many projects. She would be painting one of our historic buildings one day and then assisting Swepco with hanging our town Christmas lights the next. Having been a member of our Historic Society and the past Tour of Homes, she preserved much information used in the making of this web site.

Surrounding the Louisiana State monument are benches for sitting and sorting your thoughts, and enjoying the sunsets across the Sabine River, to the west. With its surrounding azaleas, and other flowers, you get a very distinct idea of our Southern heritage.
