MINUTES
TOWN OF LOGANSPORT
NOVEMBER 14, 2023
The regular monthly meeting of the Logansport Town Council was held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Logansport Town Hall with Mayor Judge Cordray presiding. Council members present: Anthony Wilson, Mark Woods, Pam Thomas and Zachary Bossier. Absent: Katherine Freeman. Seven guests were present.
The meeting was opened with the Lord’s Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.
With a motion from Mr. Bossier and second from Mrs. Thomas the minutes were approved. All ayes. One absent.
The monthly bills for the general and utility funds were approved with a motion from Mr. Bossier and second from Mr. Wilson. All ayes. One absent.
A public meeting was called for next month for proposed 2024 budget with a motion from Mr. Woods and second from Mrs. Thomas. All ayes. One absent.
With a motion from Mr. Bossier and second from Mr. Woods the Town’s Liability Insurance was approved. All ayes. One absent.
The Christmas Committee reported the festival begins this weekend November 18, 2023, Wyatt Putman will be preforming the Parade starts at 6 and Sheriff Jayson Richardson is the Grand Marshall.
Mr. Bubba Clark announced he is in the run-off for police juror and he would continue to support the town and be invested in the community.
Mr. James Walker, Chamber President, complimented the Mayor and Council for a job well done through out the past few years and how great the town looked.
Mrs. Bonita Brown brought to attention road that needed work and concern over some private property that needed cleaning. The mayor would look into both cases.
Mrs. Charlette Miller invited everyone to come and enjoy the Holiday Trail of Lights, she also mentioned on December 14 downtown merchants would be staying open until 8:30 with a sing along.
Mrs. Mary Thompson reported she would be able to report more on the mural at next meeting.
Mayor Cordray reported Halloween on the riverfront was a great success. The Christmas Festival would begin this weekend on November 18. November 25 Bryan Martin will be having a hometown concert on the riverfront. The street work should start next week. The community center is almost complete and Mayor Cordray complimented Terri Hamon on the wonderful job she did on decorating those windows.
With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned with a motion from Mrs. Thomas and second from Mr. Woods. All ayes. One absent.
