Just south of the main parking lot, near the Pavilion, on the hill overlooking the Sabine River, you will find a monument inscribed with the names of the original owners of the N.J. Caraway Store.
It was donated by Mrs. Janet Palmer and the late B.C. Palmer, current owners of the N.J. Caraway & Company Store. On the bell monument you will see an inscription providing information about the original owners and President of the Company. N.J. Caraway and Company was established by Eijah Price and N.J. Caraway in 1897.
